The first question asks, if we're given
this power law and we put it on a log-log
plot, what will the slope of the line be?
Remember that if we take the logarithm of
both sides of this y = x ^-3 equation, we
get the log of y is equal to -3 times the
log of x. That is just a rule we learned
in an earlier unit when we talked about
logarithms. Ok, now if we plotted
log(y) vs log(x) that is a straight line
with slope -3, so the answer is B.
Problem 2, we see that this is a straight
line on a log-log plot with slope 1/4,
and so the power law is going to have an
exponent of 1/4, and it's going to be
y = x ^ 1/4
