So that's it for unit 2, and I just wanted quickly to go over where we've been... where we're going, and what's going on from here. So unit 2 was all about introducing you to the idea of NetLogo... how it works, what the tabs are, what the turtles, the patches and the links are. We've talked a lot about the code tab how to write your own code We talked about properties, both global and turtles And then we started building our model We built the 'Heroes and Cowards' model And then we talked about how you might want to extend that model in a number of different ways. And how you should be documenting that model as you go along And a little bit about random number seeds and how those affect agent based models. So that's unit 2. Now looking forward a little bit... one of the things I've done is I've asked some of my friends and collaborators to put together short videos about how they use agent based modelling... to study different problems. Basically, the idea here is you'll have a 'virtual field trip' of where agent based modelling is being used. So we had the one from Uri Wilensky in the first unit and in this unit we'll have one by Marco Janssen who's at Arizona State University and has done quite a bit of phenomenal work on agent based modelling. He's going to talk about an example that is a very empirically grounded example of an agent based model That video will be next in the feed after this wrap up. And then you'll see the unit 2 test as well as the slides for the entire unit 2. These slides are a little 'skimpier' than some of the unit 1 slides because a lot of it is just little 'placeholders' to remind you about NetLogo commands and options that you might want to use in different contexts. Next week, we'll be starting unit 3, which will be on extending other models that people have written including some more complex models than the one we explored here. So that's it for unit 2. I hope everyone's having a good time on the course so far. Join me for office hours if you want, and I look forward to talking to you and seeing you in the near future. Take care.
